Version 2.12.x: Installation
This section covers a number of disparate topics related to the installation of the MonTel System.

Installation Overview
- Make sure that you have the relevant permissions on the network location. The location that it install all the executables is a single folder on the network (usually the file server) called the 'MonTel Application Folder'.
- Make sure you have the license key and the other general information about the installation to hand (Summary of MonTel Installation activities), especially please note How to determine the Employee code and or pin number for each user.
- Download montel_2_12_[n].exe.
- Download the relevant number file and rate code file, unzip them and place the contents of each in the 'MonTel Application Folder'.
- If this is a new installation:
- Download and install MS SQL Server 2005 Express.

- See: How to install the MonTel Server as a Service and use all the features (summary).
- Run montel_2_12_[n].exe which will start a wizard which will step through the process of creating or update an MonTel installation.
- Install the MonTel Client on each users computer by running Setup.exe from the Setup32 folder below the MonTel application folder (How to set up the MonTel 32bit Client on each computer). See also How to automate Montel client set up using a batch file.
- If this is an existing installation:
- Run montel_2_12_[n].exe which will start a wizard that should perform all the necesary upgrade steps except:
- Copy the relevant montel number file to the MonTel Application folder if you are upgrading from 2.11.x
- Test the Server (stopping to do by the wizard).
- Test the Client (stopping to do by the wizard).
- Allow the clients back into MonTel (See also How to make MonTel or Notify automatically restart after an admin shut down.).
- For any trouble shooting start with MonTel Install/Setup "How To".
