For version 2.12.21 onwards
Import filters are used by MonTel to collect, Client, Employee, Disbursement, Activity and Matter (or Job code) details from a third party practise management or cost recovery system so that transactions can be generated using this data against call records. These are filters are also used by ParsIn to recover and parse client, matter and other details from a practise management system to a common format so they can be processed by the Parser into the import format by an ImpOut filter.
Reference (Generic) MonTel import filter
The generic MonTel import filter (Montel.mif) has been written to cover case where an accounting system can export files in a specified format (or the data has been massage into this format), and there is not an existing monTel filter.
New filters are free for users on current MonTel maintenance, so please contact Montel support to have a filter written for you, if you are deploying MonTel for the first time, or you are changing you accounting system.
Monitor Business Machines import filters
There are currently two filters that can be used to import from Monitor Business Machines. The Dmon.mif filter for versions of Supervisor prior to version 4, and Dmon4.mif for Version 4 of Supervisor.net. ImportFilterName needs to be set to "dmon.mif" or "dmon4.mif" depending on the version of SuperVISor Net ODBC MBMNetODBC.dll. "dmon.mif" is for version 1.1.0.51, but will still work for more recent versions and is designed for backwards compatibility. "dmon4.mif" takes advantage of more recent features of SuperVISor Net ODBC MBMNetODBC.dll version 4.2.1.356 onwards.
Both Dmon.mif and Dmon4.mif import users so you can perform a destructive update of the users in the PABX.INI file.
MYOB Viztopia filters
There are two filters that support MYOB Viztopia. Viz.mif which will just mport a client matter list, and the more comprehensive dviz.mif which will connect directly to the ODBC driver of the Viztopia database, and collect more comprehensive information on Matters, Clients, Activities and Disbursements.
The Dviz.mif does not currently import users, so a destructive update of the the PABX.INI file to add or delete users will not work. A matter in MonTel is an assignment in Viztopia. Therefore, the MatterTypeName in the [description] section in the PMA.INI file should be "Assignment".
