You can scroll up and down with the call record display using the cursor keys, moving the blue bar one step at a time, or you can use the page up or down key to move a whole page at a time, the home key to move to the very top of the records or the most recent record and the end key to move to the bottom or the first record. You can also use the scroll bar on the right hand side to position the call records to whatever position you desire. Call records are stored sequentially in a call record file. The scroll bar represents the total file size, so moving the scroll bar to the middle, will move the record to the middle of the file. If you double click on a call Record the info box will pop up.
A call record contains all the information about one phone call in or out of the PABX . Some of this information is displayed by MonTel for Windows. A Call record displayed in MonTel for Windows is called a Call Record Line .

Some times there are errors in the calculation of the cost of a call. These are displayed as Err(x). See error messages and what they mean.

What is a Call Record? A Call Record contains all the information about one phone call in or out of the PABX. Some of this information is displayed by MonTel for Windows.
A Call Record is a short (74 bytes) collection of information about one phone call or item of telecommunications traffic in or out of your system. It contains a lot of information about the call, including the number, duration, time, cost and other information not necessarily visible.
A Call Record Display line is a line of text displaying information in a single Call Record. The fields in a Call Record Display line are:
Record - each Call Record is identified by a unique record number.
Dir - is the "direction" of the call, implying either incoming or out-going, though there might be references to other types of calls or information transmitted from the PABX.
Station - is the extension or the operator console ("Ext" or "Opr:"). The station usually refers to the extension number, occasionally it may also include the operator number, the operator usually being the receptionist.
Number - is the dialled digits of the phone number dialled by the PABX to the telephone exchange. This will generally be for out-bound calls only, unless call line identification has been enabled for this system, and the PABX reports that information to the SMDR port.
Duration - is the length of the call in hours, minutes and seconds. A 24 hour clock is used.
Trunk - identifies the path and sometimes the specific external phone line used for the call. For example, for an ISDN system, this would be labelled ISDN and may have a number between 1 and 2 or possibly 20 or 30 depending whether a BRA or PRA channel is being used. On a standard telephone system using analogue lines or PSTN lines, there may be a number of different phone lines that the calls come in or out of the building. These would be labelled PSTN and may have any number following.
Date - this is the date of the call.
Time - the time of the commencement of the call.
Cost - the cost is broken into two types of fields. If there is a cost with no tilde character (~), then this represents an accurate cost reported by the PABX to the MonTel system. Generally, this is from the data channel of an ISDN line. There is no data channel on a PSTN line. Therefore, the MonTel system has to estimate the cost of the call. To let you know that MonTel has made the estimation rather than getting an accurate cost from Telstra or from the telephone network, it includes the tilde (~) character at the beginning of the call. As the MonTel system and your PABX have no way of determining exactly when the call started, that is, it knows when you dialled the last digit but cannot tell whether the user has answered the phone or not, therefore this cost must always be just an estimation.
Updated - the updated field lets you know whether you have had any additional data associated with this Call Record that could be seen in an Info Box.
