MonTel CHG2004 beta test. (tcost) First Look!
Well it is finally here! The beta test for the new costing tables. In the first instance, I am providing just the Tcost.exe testing program, which will allow you to enter a telephone number, its duration and the time of day, and check the cost. It will also (on request) give a detailed breakdown of how the call was calculated.
In addition of Tcost.exe you will need both a Prefix Number table file (*.MNB) and a Rate code table file (*.MRC). The Prefix Number table files (from now on Number files) will need to be downloaded separately for your specific phone number. Some rate code files are included in the Tcost.zip file, and others will be made available on the download page.
Also included, is EdCost, which is an editor for the rate code tables. This was used to create parts of the sample rate code table files (from now on rate codes). It can also save the rate code files in a raw test format, which is was was used to create some of the more repetitive elements. This raw format is currently the only part that has been documented - mostly just so I could follow it. (http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i3274.html)
The documentation will evolve over time. Remember this is a first look.
I have tested the new tables on the MonTel server (alpha test only), in both 32bit and 16 bit modes. For it to work in 16 bit DOS mode, an additional Hash Key Index file (*MHK) is required. These are included in the number zips for completeness, though obviously not currently required since Tcost.exe is a 32bit windows program.
The download for this test (and remember it is just a test) can be accessed from: http://www.netwiz.com.au/costing/tcost.php.
Please let me know of any and all issues.
