2003-04-03 Netwiz Beta Testers

I found a couple of minor issues (key board related) with my testing, details at http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i3135.htm.

I have placed the latest version of ServerCN on the web site (build 198.4).

(EdIni32 has been removed from this distribution to prevent compatibility

issues with version 2.9.57).

I have been testing ServerCN continually for some days on a Win95 486 and a Win2K P4 both at 9600 baud. And so far, there have been no problems at all with the serial ports. Both systems have each recorded in excess of 250,000 records, which is more than a typical professional practise of say 50 people would record in a year.

BTW the P4 is my main production machine, so it has been kept rather busy!

The 486 is two slow for effective use as the 32k buffer is completely full almost all the time.

The Server Console seems to be a lot faster than the DOS version on Windows. However the DOS version (run on pure DOS) is still faster, and should be used when a reasonable windows machines is not available. A 486 should be fast enough for the DOS Server.exe.
