How to charge the Call to a Client or job code

To be able to charge a client or a job code the following needs to be complete:-

  • At least either the matter or Job code field depending on the PMA system.
  • Possibly a secondary field, depending on the PMA system.
  • You must also include a charge code labelled disbursement code.
  • You can alter the amount of the call in the amount field.
  • Tick the charge client box.

Note that you can set up some default disbursement and activity codes in the options menu. (See Set Up Default Client Charge Codes).

To charge a client all you need to do now is tick the charge client box.

Once all the details are correct, select the "update all" button and this will update the Master Client Database and create a new entry which will allow your system administrator to save the call information to the data base which will allow them to later use that to charge the client through the PMA system. Once you have updated all your calls, you can unload and go back to the data display.
