The MonTel Client

The MonTel client allows user to read and report on call records created by the MonTel server, and interact, import and export with the Master Client database that stores, among other data the disbursement or call accounting information.

The User Modules (Notify and MonTel for Windows) are full featured Windows application that have the ability to store additional user information about a call and link it to contact and client information. Through these features the MonTel for Windows User application has the ability to easily track phone calls and to disburse or charge phone calls to a client code in a PMA system. The current version can import and export to Solution 6, Open Practise and import from BHL revision C. Other accounting systems will be added if and when required.

There is also an old DOS call record file viewer, and several support programs for importing, exporting and other MonTel client functions.

MonTel for Windows (and Notify) are the main parts of the Client that users will generally use.

Each users can see their own calls stored in the User Call Record database or all calls on the system store in the main Call Record database depending on their administration privileges. The security is enhanced using the network directory access rights to prevent users from seeing each other's phone data and the main data if they are not so entitled.

When a call is complete MonTel is able to pop-up the call record in an InfoBox, and prompt the user with call disbursement information, including potentially the client and matter, which it will learn as it goes.

MonTel for Windows also adds a system to track calls either by call, contact or client. It has a comprehensive relational database for clients and contacts and allows you to make notes about these calls (or contacts or clients) as well as charging time or disbursing costs against the Call Record and associating the charges with a client code.

MonTel for windows includes reports on call records, using a combination of update information, duration, destination, date and time and the cost of the call. In addition there are some utility programs, an extension/telephone list and a call cost calculator.
