Hardware Requirements for the MonTel System

The technical qualification, or requirements to be able to use MonTel are pretty easy to meet. It is very likely that any firm of 15 or more staff has these basic requirements.

Your firm needs to have:

  • A Network that has a central File Server (This implies a standard place to store files which is really what MonTel needs). MonTel will work with any standard file server.
  • A Phone system (perhaps called a Key system or PABX) that export this information via a serial port. Most systems sold in the last 25 years have this capacity, often provided as an optional extra as an add plug in card called an SMDR Port.
  • Computer running at least Windows 2000 (At least a Pentium II) that you can connect to the network near the phone system.
  • Computers on your network running Windows.

More specific information can be found about the technical requirements at http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i1874.htm.

Information about the installation procedures (carried out by MonTel installers) can be found at: http://www.netwiz.com.au/appnotes/i1082.htm.
