Call types are used to define the type of call made. Many of these settings have no relevant for the NANP, but are included for internal consistency with other numbering plans. The idea, is that call records from one MonTel site can be viewed at another site and approximately the correct information will be given about the call number, extension date and time and the call type, even if the phone number as seen from that site may be of a different type.
Call types range in value from 0 to the maximum value, which at the time of publication was 35.
The format for call types is:
Calltype[N] (where[N} is some value from 0 to the maximum value) = "some call type string of characters in quotes".
MonTel will internally assign a value to each call record as a call type between 0 and the maximum call type. The call types here allow each site to change the appearance or display of the call types to match the local requirements. Call types may be used in other situations when there needs to be a general distinction made between calls.
Note that in North America is is not possible to separate "MOBILE" calls from other types.
