How TZUtil works

Icon File Template TzUtil (Tine Zone Utility) is a good way to make sure  that all the Windows based computers on your network, have the same (and  correct!) time Zone.  Since  Time Zone Adjust is a free software product of Netwiz, you can use it on your computer network and on any number of computers free providing you agree to the non-onerous software licence agreement.

If you run it from a network drive, you update all users by just including it in a system login script.

See Using TzUtil for DST changes on a network.

Please note that it can only change the time zone of the operating system, and NOT the time zone information of programs that do not use the operating system time zone settings. Operating systems include Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP. Some products store their own time zone or DST information or may be affected by other changes.

For an alternative see http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst.

It does not modify any third party programs that do not use this information.  According to Microsoft, " Any application that relies on the use of time zone information (like calendaring software) will be affected by a change to the Daylight Savings transition information. While some applications use the information stored in the Operating System, others will maintain separate lists. This information is not readily changeable, and as such appointments created within the overlap period may be displayed incorrectly.

Unlike the Microsoft patches, the Netwiz TZUtil gives you the  chance to rename the time zone as you wish, and allows you to set and change all Time Zones.  It can be run as a general start up utility, and there  are options to prevent the users on your network from ever having to see  it.

TZUtil is a product of Netwiz Pty Ltd, which is in no way endorsed or connected with Microsoft.

Getting Started with Time Zone Adjust

If you are using MonTel use the TZUtil application that came with your distribute. The last thing you want it TzUtil trashing your PABX.INI file.

Otherwise download the latest version, and unzip it to a folder on your local computer. For example C:\TZutil and then double click on the TZUtil Icon in Windows Explorer.

It should run and prompt you to create a new PABX.INI file as described in the TzUtil Quick Guide.

For details on the settings see: TimeZone Section in the PABX.INI file documentation.
