How to update 16 bit databases older than 1.54 (UPDATE16.ZIP)

If the Master ClientDB version is less that 1.54 and greater than 1.25 you can use a special update program (UPDATE16.EXE) that will update the Master Client database to version 1.59. This file can be found in the MonTel 32bit update files on the Netwiz web site. Follow the links from http:\\www.netwiz.com.au\software.

This program is designed to be used as a last minute preparation tool to update a MonTel 16 bit Client Database to the latest version so that it can be updated to the latest 32 bit version by the MonTel 32 bit client. It only needs to be used if your database is older than 1.54.

Do NOT run this to update a 16bit client database to be used on a 16 bit site. USE IT ONLY AS a STEP IN UPGRADING TO A 32 BIT MONTEL CLIENT.

To use:

• Backup the MonTel application AND the MonTel Data directories.
• Delete all files from the MonTel application directory, except the PABX.INI file.
• Unzip the contents of the UPDATE16.ZIP file into the MonTel Application directory.
• Run UPDATE16.EXE to update the ClientDB.MDB, which should quickly update the Master Client Database to version 1.59 which is easily enough to upgrade to a 32 bit version.
• You can now proceed with the rest of the update to the 32 bit client.
