View/Find Client by Contact or Phone Number - allows you to find a client or a contact that may be stored in the MonTel Client Contact Database if you know their phone number but are not sure of the name of the client or the contact. It displays the Edit Phone/Fax Number form.

With the edit phone fax number form you can enter a number and the MonTel system will attempt to locate any clients or contacts that are present in the database and have the same phone number. You can enter a phone number and select the phone number type whether it is work, fax, telex or home.
Once you have selected the phone number, you press the refresh button and the screen will indicate whether firstly the phone is found in the database and then any clients or contacts that are found to match that phone number.
(The red light means a refresh is needed, amber shows that a refresh is in progress, and a green that the form is up to date). |

The MonTel system is clever enough to know about your local area code (but not STD, international or other codes) and if a phone number includes your area code, or will match a number that you have input with the appropriate area code, it will display any matching contacts or clients.
You can also choose to select or associate a particular phone number with a contact or a client. Select from the black downwards pointing triangle, the name of the contact or the name of a client and press the update button. This will associate that particular phone number with that client or contact in the future so that in the event of a call record having the same phone number, when it pops up it will automatically pick up the contact and client details. Likewise, you can also delete any reference to that particular phone number.
